Arsenal and Crystal Palace are keeping tabs on Flamengo star Matheus França.
Last week, Globo Esporte reported the Eagles sent a scout to watch the 19-year-old in action against Ñublense. He came off the bench in the 89th minute as his side sealed a 2-0 win in the Copa Libertadores.
Crystal Palace will continue to monitor the attacking midfielder and will be accompanied by Arsenal. That’s according to Lance, who state he’s been ‘closely watched’ by a few clubs, including the Premier League duo.
The Brazilian club weren’t interested in carrying out his sale in the last window, which is why they didn’t entertain any offers they received in January. That no longer seems to be the case for the summer.
It’s claimed the ‘expectation’ is that new offers will arrive at Flamengo in the next window. They are patient and are waiting to receive bids exceeding R$100m [€18m] for the Brazil U20 international.
Lance don’t make it clear whether Arsenal or Crystal Palace are expected to make an offer for the teenager.
Amid interest from the English clubs, França has made it clear he wants to remain focused on upcoming games with Flamengo.
