West Ham United have been warned that Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika is in no rush to leave Club Brugge this summer.

Africa Foot cover comments from sources close to his agents, who insist that Onyedika’s head has not been turned by interest from the likes of West Ham this summer.

Severa reports over the last month have made it cleat that West Ham are looking at the midfielder, with one naming them and Everton as suitors.

The Hammers were also reported to have made a formal approach for the 24-year-old and been told that it would take at least €24m to sign him this summer.

There has been nothing on the matter since those reports a month ago, and it appears that might be because the player is not pushing for a departure at this moment in time.

“He (Onyedika) is fully focused on Club Bruges for now,” a source close to his agency, CAA Stellar, is quoted as saying.

“If there is to be a move, it will be up to the clubs to decide. Raphael is in no rush to leave. He is happy in Bruges and will not demand a move.

“He is an exemplary professional, always striving for improvement. He is humble enough to know that the right time will come, and he will embrace it.”

Now, some might interpret that as encouragement for West Ham to make an official bid and see how the land lies.

On the flip side, it also feels like his agents insisting that they won’t do anything to rock the boat and suitors, such as West Ham, need to make the first move. Whether they do, is now up to them.
