On Monday, we relayed claims from Carlo Okaka, the Watford striker’s brother and agent, that Everton were interested in the Italy international.
Well, the representative appears to be doing a tour of all the countries where Stefano has been linked to recently, as he spoke to FootMercato about Ligue 1 clubs, such as Marseille, being keen on the forward’s services.
He said: “Interest from France? It’s true, but I cannot and don’t want to give names at the moment. There are three teams who have contacted us. I can tell you there are three managers who would like to have him in their squads”.
Explaining Okaka wasn’t featuring under Marco Silva because of the manager’s ‘technical choices’, his brother was adamant they would sort something out in the near future for the striker, with clubs in Spain and Italy also after him.
As for when this could be done by, Carlo Okaka said there was no deadline, but the sooner the 28-year-old was back on the pitch, the better.
Other than the 63 minutes he featured in during the first game of the season, scoring in a 3-3 draw against Liverpool, the striker has only been in Marco Silva’s match day squads three other times, coming off the bench just once, in the 3-2 loss to Everton.
