Regardless of whether or not the player wants to leave Tottenham, it seems the London side are still intent on trying to recoup their money for Moussa Sissoko if they get the chance.
A reported move to Turkey never materialised, leaving the Premier League side with very few options, yet an exit is still possible if a club coughs up the money.
One capable of doing that could be Inter, who have taken a belated interest in the midfielder, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Earlier on Tuesday, TuttoMercatoWeb reported that an intermediary held a meeting with the Serie A side to discuss the possible arrivals of the Spurs man and Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi, yet few details were published.
However, Corriere, in their daily edition, claim that Tottenham, who paid around €35m for Sissoko last summer, would like to see €30m put on the table before they let him leave, something Inter aren’t prepared to do yet, regardless of whether it is now or via a loan with a compulsory view to buy after a small amount of appearances.
Furthermore, there was talks about Marcelo Brozovic potentially being included in the operation, but the Italian newspaper explain Mauricio Pochettino isn’t all that keen on the Croatia international.
It seems Tottenham are paying the price for paying so much for him in the first place.
If they were to just take the L, as the cool kids would say, and accept a lower offer, all their problems could be resolved very quickly.
