Nottingham Forest have Benfica forward Jota ‘in their sights’ this summer, with the Portuguese club open to a loan deal for the 21-year-old.

That’s according to O Jogo, who say the youngster has several suitors keen on a move as Benfica look to find him regular game time this season.

The newspaper explains that following the arrival of Pedrinho and Everton this summer, opportunities were likely to be limited.

That, coupled with Jorge Jesus’ arrival, promises to see several players moved on and Jota is among them.

Fortunately, he has several clubs who are ‘interested’ in his signature, and Nottingham Forest are among them.

They were first linked back at the beginning of May, with Record stating that they had ‘shown interest’ and the player has an ‘English dream’.

Their interest has now been backed up, and the positive is the ‘exit door is open’ for him.

Benfica are ‘happy’ to see the young footballer leave on loan and gain ‘more pace and experience’ playing first-team football for someone.

Nottingham Forest would be able to offer that, and in a competitive league like the Championship too, although they face unnamed competition from Spain for his signature.
