With a number of leagues still active and trying to finish their proceedings, it’s fair to say there’s still a lot of work for scouts to do.
However, a lot of their job will need to be done from behind a desk, as the vast majority of leagues around Europe still aren’t allowing fans in their stadiums due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but there are a few countries where travelling to watch a game in person is allowed.
Poland is one such nation, who reopened their stadiums to up to 10,000 fans per game back in June, and both Manchester United and Southampton have apparently taken advantage of that.
This is according to Wirtualna Polska journalist Marek Wawrzynowski, who claimed on Saturday that scouts from the Red Devils and the Saints were present at the game between Lech Poznan and Legia Warszawa to look at Kamil Jóźwiak.

Heavily linked with a move to Leeds United back in 2017, the 22-year-old has also been sent to Derby County by various outlets, but a serious transfer has yet to materialise.
Perhaps now could be his chance, and both scouts will have likely walked away chuffed to bits with what they saw, as Jóźwiak was key in Lech’s 2-1 win, scoring the first after 24 minutes and assisting Jakub Kamiński for the second five minutes later.
Manchester United and Southampton’s men weren’t the only ones present in the stands, as Freiburg, Werder Bremen, Augsburg and Anderlecht all also sent representatives to keep an eye on the one-time Poland international.
