Leroy Sané is edging closer towards returning to Manchester City’s first team after featuring for the English club’s U23 side on February 28th.
The Germany international suffered a serious injury last August and after spending 208 days on the sidelines, he returned to the pitch in City U23s 4-2 win over Arsenal U23s at the Emirates.
Sané’s comeback will come as positive news for Joachim Löw and Germany, and it’ll also be welcomed by Bayern Munich, who failed in their efforts to sign the City wideman last summer.
According to Sky in Germany, the Bavarian club are ‘looking closely’ at the winger as they remain interested in him.
Bayern believe Sané would cost in excess of €100m in the summer and his recent injury ‘raises doubts’ over spending big to acquire his services.
Another outlet, TZ, now claims the managerial situation at Bayern could also be a factor in the Bundesliga efforts to sign the Manchester City player.
Hans-Dieter Flick will be in charge of the club until the end of the season, but it’s still not clear who will manage the Bundesliga winners next season.
