NEC Nijmegen want to take Rangers’ Danilo away from Ibrox quickly, after reaching an agreement with Danny Röhl’s side.

On January 29th, Voetbal International reported the Rangers player was on his way to the Netherlands.

At the weekend, the forward was in Alkmaar to watch the Eredivisie side’s defeat to AZ Alkmaar. NEC Nijmegen manager Dick Schreuder provided an update on his arrival on loan from Ibrox.

On Monday, we covered claims from the Dutch press that Danilo and NEC Nijmegen are waiting for Rangers’ approval. Röhl’s side had put the deal on hold and wanted to bring in a replacement before sanctioning a move.

Rangers have completed the signing of Ryan Naderi from FC Hansa Rostock on deadline day.

A fresh report from Voetbal International state the late deal for Röhl’s side come as a welcome boost for both Danilo and the Dutch club.

The 26-year-old Brazilian has already agreed a deal with NEC Nijmegen and has been in the Netherlands for the past few days. Naderi’s arrival at Ibrox paves the way for Danilo to move to the Netherlands.

Although the transfer window in the UK has closed, NEC Nijmegen can still do business. That’s because the Dutch winter market is open until later today.

The Rangers man has the experience of playing in the Eredivisie with Ajax, FC Twente and Feyenoord. This could help him settle in quickly at his new club.

Danilo scored four goals and contributed two assists from 28 matches in all competitions for the Scottish club this season.
