NEC Nijmegen are close to finalising the arrival of Willum Willumsson and Daniolo from Birmingham City and Glasgow Rangers.

Voetbal International cover comments from NEC boss Dick Schreuder today before the away match against AZ Alkmaar. The NEC boss was specifically asked about incoming arrivals.

ESPN report that both were reportedly in the stands to watch the clash against Alkmaar this afternoon. Schreuder was asked about them and provided positive news.

“It’s not official yet, but it looks good,” he said.

“I don’t know much about it; I was busy with this match. There’s also a lot of interest in several players playing today. I didn’t know they were in the stands.”

A report today stated that NEC had a good chance of getting the deal to sign Willumsson from Birmingham done before deadline day on Monday. According to De Gerlander, he had made NEC his preferred destination this month. That had encourage them to get things finalised.

Danilo, meanwhile, was reported to be on his way from Rangers two days ago. A report on the 29th stated that he was ‘currently on his way’ to NEC from Ibrox.

He was set to undergo a medical and there’s been no updates either way after that. It appears, though, all has gone well. NEC certainly seem confident of having the deals for the Birmingham and Rangers midfielders done soon.
