Last weekend, the English media reported Chelsea’s interest in the Benfica youngster João Felix, with several outlets covering the original story from The Mirror.
Now the Portuguese press also reacts to it today, with a special article from O Jogo, who managed to confirm the original report.
O Jogo says that the Blues are indeed interested in the midfielder following the many games they’ve scouted, not only for the first team, but for the academy as well.
The newspaper claims that Félix is a ‘dream’ for Maurizio Sarri, who’s an admirer of his ‘technical capacity and creativity’.
Regarding the 18-year-old’s new contract, newspaper Record has some news about it.
They reported the agreement last Tuesday, and today they say it’s really close to being announced, as it could happen on Monday.
The youngster is set to sign a deal until 2022, with a €120m release clause.
Chelsea were originally pulled into the player’s transfer rumour by the Portuguese media in May.
