Accepting the invite from Wolverhampton’s managing director Laurie Dalrymple to attend the club’s last home game at Molineux, Mexican wrestler Sin Cara has taken the opportunity to have yet another jab at Troy Deeney.
The Watford striker was rather critical of Raul Jimenez’s celebration in the FA Cup semi-final as the Mexican forward donned a specially made mask on to show his appreciation for his compatriot.
After the game, Sin Cara jumped to the Wolves man’s defence after Deeney called him a ‘loser’, explaining it was part of their culture, and he’s taken one step further in an interview with MedioTempo.
He said: “There are people who don’t have the ability to educate themselves and to understand certain things. They speak for the sake of speaking and then realised it wasn’t what they thought.
To say that Raul Jimenez is a loser for putting on a mask, they refer to everyone else who use masks, to everyone who likes wrestling, and that’s not the case. The mask is something that identifies the Mexican culture, to our country, it’s part of our passion. It shows we’re warriors, that we fight for our dreams”.
Sin Cara went onto to explain that Jimenez probably has four or five different masks of his, while he has around five or six different football shirts given to him by the Wolverhampton man, including one from the Confederations Cup signed by the whole Mexican squad.
Wolves face Fulham on Saturday while Watford face the unenviable task of playing Chelsea away.
