Always with an eye on the Portuguese market, Wolverhampton Wanderers continue to look for signings from the Liga Bwin.
According to Mais Futebol, the Molineux side are now working on the arrival of Benfica forward Gonçalo Ramos, having already started efforts for the transfer.
The story claims Wolves opened talks with the Eagles for the transfer. However, it’s also made clear that it’d be ‘premature’ to say the negotiations are heading towards a happy ending.
It’s said the talks are still in the initial stage, and the only thing that sounds ‘certain’ is that Benfica would only accept letting him go on a permanent move, and not a loan. It’s not mentioned how much the Eagles would demand for the transfer.
Gonçalo Ramos had eight goals and four assists in 46 appearances for Benfica last season. He’s valued by Trasnfermarkt at €14m, despite being protected by a €120m release clause.
Wolves’ interest in the striker had already been reported by the Portuguese media a couple of weeks ago. Now it seems Bruno Lage’s side are putting their plans into action, and making an effort to get a deal done.
