Leander Dendoncker has a grand total of 9 Premier League minutes so far this season.
It was a good 9 minutes, coming on for Raul Jimenez to help see out a 2-1 victory over Chelsea and get Wolves back on track with their season, but it’s still barely crumbs in the wider scheme of things.
At the weekend against Newcastle United he didn’t get off the bench, and it’s pretty certain the Belgium international will have expected more than those precious 9 minutes and two EFL Cup appearances.
This inevitably leads to questions about the player’s future. Dendoncker moved from Anderlecht on loan with a compulsory purchase option, but there’s suggestions a move could be in the offing before that’s even due to be paid.
Italy’s Calciomercato reported at the weekend that Fiorentina wanted the player during the summer transfer window, and his name ‘could come back into fashion’ for a transfer.
The 23 year old has ‘disappeared from the radar’ and Wolves ‘never use him’, therefore a quick transfer is a consideration.
Should Dendoncker continue to sit on the bench or in the stands then these rumours will only grow.
