Wolverhampton Wanderers now have one day left to make a final decision regarding the future of Vitinha. Following the loan spell from Porto this season, the Premier League side must now trigger their €20m buying option over the player or let him return to the Dragons.

This is a very serious subject for the Portuguese side, since their Financial Fair Play results would depend on this sale. And we get two versions of this story from local newspapers today.

One of them comes from O Jogo. They claim that Porto are ‘convinced’ that Wolves will end up triggering the clause before tomorrow.

The Dragons still have some back-up plans in case that doesn’t happen, which would be to line up some other sales and try to make them count as June transfers. Still, the newspaper makes it clear that the expectation is for everything to go as planned regarding Vitinha.

However, Record brings a totally different version of this story. They claim to know that Wolves will not trigger the buying option.

It’s said the Molineux side don’t want to lose the player, but don’t want to spend that much on the permanent move either. So with Porto being unlikely to accept another loan deal, then the only solution is his return to Portugal.

Record says anything could happen in the coming hours, but ‘everything indicates’ that Vitinha will be back with the Dragons. They consider it to be bad for the club for financial reasons, but very good for Sérgio Conceição’s squad to be stronger for next season.
