Wolves striker Rafa Mir is expected to travel to Sevilla today to complete a move to the club after they struck a deal for his signature.
That’s according to COPE journalist José Manuel Oliva, who says the La Liga side will pay €17m for the Spanish star.
He reports that Sevilla are ‘close’ to signing Mir, having struck a deal with Wolves to take him back to his homeland.
As you’ll be aware, Mir has been heavily linked with a move away from Molineux this summer after starring for Huesca last season and carrying that form into the Olympics with Spain.
Mundo Deportivo followed that up today by stating that Mir could be involved as a deal for Valencia’s Goncalo Guedes, with Wolves pushing to bring the Portuguese forward to England.
It is Sevilla who have seemingly won the race, though, with Oliva stating that they are ‘close’ to signing the striker.
They will pay ‘around €17m’ to bring him to La Liga, and the move appears to be close to completion as the player is expected to travel to Sevilla today.
This is backed up by ABC de Sevilla, who have the price at €16m and say Sevilla have beaten Atlético to Mir’s signing.
They say that Sevilla moved after discarding a deal for Joselu and the player will sign a deal until 2026 at the club.
They’re also extremely confident that everything has been sorted between the two clubs, and should nothing go wrong, Mir will be a Sevilla player ‘in the next few hours’.
