Wolverhampton Wanderers are ‘interested in taking’ Barcelona’s Carles Aleñá this summer, according to Sport.
The 23-year-old came up through the ranks of the Catalan club’s youth system, but has failed to have prominence in their first team, which is why he was sent out on loan to Real Betis and Getafe.
He has caught the attention of clubs in La Liga and the Premier League following his displays with Getafe. Barca sources from England have informed Sport that Wolves are interested in acquiring the midfielder’s services.
The La Liga side, for their part, are ready to open the door for the Spaniard’s sale in the summer if they receive an offer of €8m.
Wolves did business with Ronald Koeman’s side last summer, when they took Nélson Semedo in a deal worth €40m. They can bring the right-back’s former teammate to Molineux by meeting Barcelona’s fee demands.
Sport also point out Valencia, Granada and even Getafe are looking to acquire Aleñá’s services, but these options may not be taken into account when compared to the financial package he could receive from Wolves.
Aleñá’s contract expires in 2022 and therefore, Barcelona will not contemplate another loan move for the player.
