We have good news, and some frustrating news, on the future of Matheus Nunes.

First, the good news. Monday’s edition of A Bola makes it clear that Wolves are ‘firmly committed’ to signing the Sporting player. They could spend as much as €45m to secure him this summer.

Other clubs are also keen and it’s stated they could take concrete steps in the coming days to rival Wolves. Should that happen then Nunes would consider all the options he has, with even a stay at Sporting not completely ruled out.

Therefore, it would make sense for Wolves to try and push the deal along and sign the player quickly, however, he’s in no rush. A Bola explain Nunes is enjoying his holidays back in Brazil.

The midfielder was born in Rio de Janeiro and moved to Lisbon with his family at the age of 12. They’ve all travelled back to Brazil and Nunes is returning to places he remembers from his childhood, and seeing friends and family he left behind.

A Bola state much of what has been rumoured about his future will have ‘almost passed him by’ as he concentrates on his holidays, which he’s set to continue for a few more days.

Only when he returns will he make a final decision on his future, which presents a frustrating situation for Wolves.
