Jadon Sancho came off the bench in Manchester United’s Community Shield defeat to Manchester City, while Antony remained an unused substitute.

The 24-year-old Brazilian has insisted that he wants to stay at Old Trafford, while Sancho has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Tuesday’s edition of Sport claims Manchester United are planning to offload the duo and replace them with Raphinha.

The report says the Red Devils have ‘entered the fray’ for the Barcelona winger because they are close to offloading his compatriot and would, in addition, welcome Sancho’s exit.

Sport makes no mention of where the duo would move next but says Manchester United like the former Leeds United man. He’s made it clear that he wants to continue at the Camp Nou, yet the La Liga side want to get rid of the 27-yer-old to raise funds.

The Catalan media believe Barca sporting director Deco, who was the Brazilian’s former agent, needs to explain to him that he won’t have a prominent role if he decides to continue at the club.

Coming back to Manchester United’s interest, Sport state it’s ‘mandatory’ for the Catalan club to sell Raphinha, if Erik ten Hag’s side were to table a €60m bid. Should this happen, it would be a dream scenario for Barca.

This feels like wishful thinking from Barcelona and their local media, rather than there being genuine interest from Manchester United at this moment.
