It seems West Ham United’s chase for Corinthians youngster Wesley just got a lot harder.
As Goal Brasil shares the latest update on the winger’s future, they claim that his club have just set a new price tag for his summer transfer.
According to the outlet, Corinthians now want €30m. That’s the amount they consider they wouldn’t be able to turn down in case an offer shows up.
The report points out that West Ham tried to sign the player by placing a €15m offer on the table, and that was turned down by his club at the time.
What’s funny about that story is that when West Ham first offered €15m for Wesley, there was some disbelief that Corinthians turned down the offer, as the player was having ups and downs and many journalists thought his club should’ve taken it.
The 19-year-old, however, ended up scoring a couple of beautiful goal against Fluminense, and that seems to have changed everything. And we should soon get to know if those interested clubs will get carried away by that performance.
Right now, that all looks a bit crazy, and it’s very likely Corinthians will eventually accept less.
