Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria is a transfer target for West Ham United and Everton, according to reports.
The 25-year-old is in his final year of contract and has not signed a new deal with the club so far. If there is no renewal in the coming months, the midfielder can leave his current employer as a free agent next summer.
According to Calciomercato, Zakaria’s situation has ignited the market, with him drawing attention from Italy and England.
Juventus and AS Roma are the clubs credited with an interest from Serie A. In addition to these two sides, ‘interest from the Premier League is strong’ and this is when the Hammers and Rafael Benítez’s side are tagged.
Over at Bild, they state Mönchengladbach have identified Zakaria as one of the ‘candidates’ to make cash in the winter market.
Adi Hütter, the German club’s manager, has asked for new signings next month. To fulfil the coach’s request, Gladbach ‘urgently need to generate’ revenues by offloading some of their players. The midfielder’s sale next month can help them achieve it.
West Ham and Everton are among the sides ‘interested’ in Zakaria and the Premier League duo would be delighted to know that Mönchengladbach are ready to cut ties with him in January.
