West Bromwich Albion are continuing to be credited with interest in Sassuolo forward Diego Falcinelli, after links first appeared in May. The Italian impressed whilst on loan with Crotone last season, and the player has also caught the attention of Everton in recent days.
TMW have reported West Brom are still showing an interest in Falcinelli ahead of the summer window. Tony Pulis will be looking to bolster his attacking options in the next window after their struggles in front of goal last season, and Falcinelli could be the answer for the Premier League side.
Last month we covered reports from Italy that West Brom sent scouts to Crotone’s clash with Juventus. The purpose of the trip was to get a lowdown on Falcinelli and also his teammate Marcus Rohden. The 25-year-old scored 13 goals for Crotone during the last campaign, despite their fight against relegation.
However, West Brom could face competition from Everton to sign Falcinelli in the coming weeks. Yesterday we reported Ronald Koeman is keen on the Italian, and that the Merseyside club could be set up for a tussle with Torino to land the Sassuolo player.
With the uncertainty over the future of Romelu Lukaku, Everton may need to bring in a forward or two this summer.
