The Yaser Asprilla transfer drama is back on the agenda, with Leicester City, Fulham and Brentford brought into the picture again.

On August 3rd, we covered claims which stated Leicester City had been been put at the top of the list by Yaser Asprilla’s agent because they were prepared to pay 10% commission in a deal to sign the Watford player.

A couple of days later it was reported Rennes had agreed to pay €28m plus more in potential bonuses, and would offer the player €1.2m a year after tax. The same report stated the French club hoped Asprilla’s agent would ‘come to his senses’ and stop making over the top demands which were blocking the transfer.

On August 6th, it was Lyon who were said to have been approached by the Watford player’s camp, but they hadn’t bitten at that stage.

Now a claim comes from Colombia and journalist Guillermo Arango, although this time it’s Watford getting the blame.

Arango reports Watford’s high financial demands (€30M) have so far stopped several options for the player’.

Leicester City are said to have offered €23m, with FC Porto, Eintracht Frankfurt, Brentford and Fulham all again said to be in the picture.

Could this be an agent trying to pass his failure to find a deal to Watford? There’s a decent possibility of that.
