Before we start talking about Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos, we must point out how good he’s been for Brazil’s U20 lately.

The 18-year-old captains the national team in the U20 South American Championship, and has five goals in six appearances. That’s for a team who won six of their seven matches so far.

So it’s no surprise that following the news saying he still couldn’t get a work permit to play for Chelsea, several Brazilian clubs are claimed to be interested in signing him on a loan.

One of the latest reports comes from journalist Jorge Nicola, who claims Corinthians have already ‘opened talks’ with agent Giuliano Bertolucci for a loan.

On his blog, he quotes one of the midfielder’s representatives talking about the possibility of a spell in Brazil.

“We are still trying to get a visa, but if it doesn’t happen, he will need to play on loan at a club that competes in the Libertadores.”

Also, according to Netflu, Fluminense made an approach as well. However, Vasco reportedly made a deal with Chelsea to block Andrey from being negotiated with another club from Rio de Janeiro.

That’s why Corinthians would seem to have an advantage here.

Still, it’s not guaranteed that Andrey will be loaned yet, as Chelsea are said to be still hopeful of his work permit, and with the U20 South American Championship ending on Sunday, they shall have new arguments to try to get the visa next week.
