Among the many clubs who Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski has been linked to in the past few months, Manchester United have been among them.
The Red Devils were said to have ‘come forward’ for the signing of the 21-year-old, who ended up staying at the Old Lady, in the summer.
Now as Calcio Mercato today features a story on Kulusevski and how hard it’s been for him to convince at Juve, they explain ‘the truth about Manchester United’ and some of the other rumours.
The website starts by claiming that Manchester United’s alleged interest didn’t go anywhere. They say that ‘never led to direct contacts or a concrete offer’ from the Red Devils.
On the other hand, Calcio Mercato reports the interest from Manchester United’s Champions League rivals Atalanta, who chased Kulusevski in the summer and continue to have him as a target for the January market.
The story highlights that the winger never became a certainty at Juventus and that’s why the Old Lady could be convinced to negotiate his sale. So in case the Red Devils were ever interested, this sounds like the right time to start moving.
