Italian newspaper Tuttosport today brings some good and especially bad news for Tottenham Hotspur regarding the chase for Nicolo Zaniolo.
According to the newspaper, due to FFP, Roma may see themselves forced to sell the young star in case they don’t can make any other big sale in the next ten days.
That’s great for Spurs to hear, since the player could end up being cheaper than expected. However, there are a couple of factors that could give Juventus an advantage in this race.
The first one is that despite Tottenham wanting to offer €40m plus bonuses, the Old Lady wouldn’t feel threatened by such an amount.
Also, due to the player’s wish to be in the Euro 2020 squad, he would rather stay in Italy even in case he leaves Roma this summer.
With Tuttosport being a newspaper from Turin and often favouring Juventus, perhaps it’s no big deal to see them pushing a little to the Old Lady’s side here.
However, Tottenham should be aware that Juve are their main competitors in the race for Zaniolo, which could see an end sooner than expected.
