On Sunday evening we covered a report from L’Equipe that Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Lyon for the transfer of Tanguy Ndombele.

The French newspaper made it clear the midfielder is ‘convinced’ on Spurs as a club, and also on their manager Mauricio Pochettino.

In mid June, he spoke openly about Tottenham and how it’s a big club in Europe, clearly happy with transfer interest from the Premier League side.

L’Equipe reported an agreement had been reached for a fee of €62m plus a further €10m, representing a good deal for Spurs depending on how easy the bonuses are to reach.

The French newspaper also said certain things needed to be sorted out on personal details, although it was clear they didn’t feel this would be an issue.

A potential ‘surprise’ from Manchester United was also reported, but again it wasn’t really presented as a likely problem and felt like speculation over anything else.

In their Monday newspaper, in a separate article, L’Equipe say the transfer is ‘imminent’, and report ‘all that remains’ is to ‘finalise the transaction’.

There doesn’t appear to be anything to worry about.
