Portuguese newspaper Record seem to be cautiously reversing from their big claims of Friday.

In Saturday’s newspaper they reiterate Tottenham are ready to ‘move forward with a concrete proposal’ worth over €70m to sign Bruno Fernandes. However, it’s the next part which sees the reverse.

On Friday they’d treated Christian Eriksen’s move to Real Madrid as imminent, and at the time we pointed out that certainly isn’t the slant on things in Spain, not even close.

They explain everything depends on the Denmark international leaving, ‘which hasn’t happened yet’.

That would bring back in other contenders, with Record saying the English media are naming Manchester United and Liverpool… seemingly ignoring they said exactly that themselves yesterday.

It’s a bit of mess.

Next week could see actual movement. It’s reported Bruno and Sporting will meet after the Nations League and the decision on a destination will be made soon.

Tottenham will probably still have Eriksen next week, so them actually submitting an official proposal, if the deal is dependent on his exit, seems shaky.
