It appears we are now one step closer to see Dele Alli in something other than a Tottenham shirt, with a deal with Paris Saint-Germain agreed.
That’s what Le Parisien are reporting on Wednesday afternoon, explaining that despite Daniel Levy’s wish to get some money from a deal, the insistence from both the Ligue 1 club and the player himself has forced his hand.
Various offers were made, with the newspaper claiming Leonardo went as far as trying to ‘include Idrissa Gueye and Julian Draxler’, but with a ‘0% chance’ of the German leaving his current club in January, that quickly went off the table.
The aforementioned insistence from Alli, who is said to be ‘extremely interested at the idea of relaunching himself in the French capital under his former manager Mauricio Pochettino’, helped the two club ‘reach an agreement on a dry loan until the end of the season’.
While that’s great news, Le Parisien do add it’s not a fully done deal yet, because the England international leaving Tottenham is tied to someone replacing him in London.
Until Spurs find that man, who doesn’t seem to be Christian Eriksen following his match winning performance against Milan on Tuesday night, Alli stays where he is.
