Mauro Icardi is looking to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the winter window and has been offered to Tottenham Hotspur, according to claims coming out of France.
The forward started the season on a bright note, scoring three goals in his first five league appearances. Since then, he has failed to find the back of the net, as his performances were impacted by the off-field ‘telenovelas’ [soap opera] with Wanda Nara.
Foot Mercato now claim the Ligue 1 side are planning to cut ties with seven players next month and the 28-year-old’s name is included on the list.
The former Inter Milan star, for his part, wants to leave Paris to ‘find a quieter place’, where he would have a major role and can also take care of his family. A return to Serie A is possible, but the option to join Juventus is ‘still hypothetical’.
Icardi’s representatives are at work as they are ‘trying to offer’ him elsewhere, including to Tottenham.
Antonio Conte has Harry Kane as the only recognised striker at his disposal, while the likes of Heung-min Son and Steven Bergwijn can be used up front. Reports in Italy have stated Fabio Paratici and the manager are admirers of Fiorentina star Dušan Vlahović.
With the north London club provided an opportunity to sign Icardi, they could look at the PSG man, if they fail to sign the Serbian.
