Real Madrid will face competition from Manchester United in the chase for Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro.
That’s according to Wednesday’s edition of AS, who name Manchester United and Manchester City as Los Blancos’ competitors to sign the right-back.
Tottenham took the Spain international on loan from Sporting in January 2023 and made his stay permanent later that year.
During his time at the Portuguese club, he played under Rubén Amorim, who arrived at Manchester United earlier this week. Porro made 98 appearances for Sporting under the current Red Devils manager, managing 12 goals and 20 assists in the process.
This is because of Amorim’s arrival at the club, and he could be key for a potential deal. There’s an ‘excellent’ relationship between the player and the manager.
Porro’s deal lasts until 2028, and AS state Spurs chairman Daniel Levy won’t let him leave for less than €70m.
Manchester United have Diogo Dalot and summer signing Noussair Mazraoui as the two right-backs in the squad.
Porro flirted with a Real Madrid transfer recently, and these claims may have been encouraged by that, because a making a move for him looks very far from an obvious Manchester United priority.
