Tottenham Hotspur could table a bid of €18m to sign Fiorentina midfielder Matias Vecino, according to claims in the Italian media. Last week the Uruguay international was linked with a move to the Premier League side.
It has been suggested Tottenham could sign Vecino to replace Eric Dier. The England international has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, and Vecino is seen as a like for like replacement.
Viola News have reported Tottenham are looking to sign Vecino this summer, and they are hoping a proposal of €18m will be enough to convince Fiorentina to sell.
Vecino has a buyout clause of €24m, and even though Tottenham’s bid would be €6m below this the Viola could still be tempted to sell, as they would make a tidy profit on the central midfielder.
This termination fee will expire August 10th, so there’s plenty of time for Tottenham to consider it. And before any of that, Dier would actually have to look like he’s moving, which right now he doesn’t.
