Fenerbahce forward Vincent Janssen finally made his much-anticipated comeback yesterday when he came on in the 77th minute against Antalyaspor.

The Dutchman is currently on loan with the Turkish giants from Tottenham Hotspur, but has been sidelined since early December.

Replacing former Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado, the Dutchman received a very warm welcome from the Fenerbahce fans.

Speaking after the game Janssen said as reported by Beinsports: “Of course it’s very good to be back. It’s been a long journey for me but I finally managed to come back. I am back now and hopefully I’ll be able to help the team in the remaining matches.”

This will come as a boost to Tottenham and whatever their ideas are for Janssen in the summer transfer window. The Netherlands international doesn’t seem to be in the plans of Mauricio Pochettino and may need to find a new club in the next window.

With Harry Kane and Fernando Llorente Tottenham’s two recognised centre forwards it will be difficult for Janssen to get games next season.

Fernerbahce have four games remaining this season which could give Janssen a chance to put himself in the shop window.
