Ever since it became apparent that Barcelona were indeed willing to negotiate the exit of Franck Kessié this summer, Tottenham have been mentioned.

The Spanish media brought Spurs into the fray quite strongly this week, and now the Italian media have heard the same, with both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport discussing the matter on Friday.

The latter of the two point out that Tottenham appear to have ‘forcefully entered the scene’ for the midfielder, and are ready to give Barcelona €15m ‘without any particular problems’ for what would be a permanent transfer.

As has been mentioned elsewhere, the idea of a move to the Premier League is one he finds quite enticing, and even with Spurs out of Europe next season, the move could take place.

Gazzetta dello Sport corroborate some of this, and add that Tottenham are ‘taking the first steps’ to take Kessié away from right under Juventus’ noses, who have been trying to sort out some sort of deal with Barcelona for a while.

Therefore, it seems that regardless of what is happening with Harry Kane in London, there is some movement from behind the scenes at Tottenham for the Ivory Coast international.
