Everton have now been further dragged into the Adrien Silva saga. After being linked to the Sporting midfielder last week, the Toffees’ interest is starting to be taken seriously by the Portuguese press.
A Bola has a story today explaining the player’s situation in the market, as Sporting are using their ‘patience’ in order not to sell him for less than they want.
And even though many clubs have been linked to the 28-year-old in the past few months, only Everton and Tottenham are mentioned this time.
The newspaper claims that Sporting have already received a few offers for the player, but none of them reached the €30m mark, which is the minimum the club want before starting talks.
We must recall that yesterday, O Jogo had a story saying Tottenham have scheduled a meeting to discuss the transfer soon. So considering both reports, that would put Tottenham ahead in the race.
Adrien has never hidden his desire to play in England, so only Sporting must be convinced in this case.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham have been relentlessly linked to Adiren Silva over the past few weeks, but Everton are a new addition. The Goodison Park club’s new found wealth has recently been noticed in Portugal, and Everton are increasingly dragged into rumours, perhaps through hope rather than expectation.
