Hoffenheim defender Benjamin Hubner started 27 games in the Bundesliga in the 2017/18 season, scoring three goals and registering two assists in the process.
German outlet Kicker claims the 28-year-old’s style of play would suit the Premier League well. His “force and resilience” has seen him attract interest from clubs in England.
Everton are one of the clubs interested in signing Hubner in the summer transfer window, according to Kicker. The central defender’s current contract expires in 2021 and he is ready to reject advances from the Everton and other potential suitors.
Hubner and his agent have already blocked requests from the Premier League clubs. The player, who joined Hoffenheim in 2016, wants to continue with his current employers – “thanks to the Champions League”.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side finished third in Germany’s top flight, which is the most successful season in the club’s history. Hoffenheim will play in the Champions League during the next campaign and therefore Hubner wants to continue with the Bundesliga side beyond this summer.
