Denzel Dumfries is again being linked to Manchester United, as his future at Inter Milan looks very much open.
Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport shares a story with some details about the players who could leave the Nerazzurri this summer, and the Dutchman is one of them.
It’s said Dumfries, whose contract with Inter Milan expires in 2025, can’t find an agreement for a renewal, and if the situation continues like this, agents will ‘accelerate his departure’.
Manchester United are then named as a potential destination, because while the player ‘always rejected’ the possibility of joining mid-level clubs in the Premier League, he actually ‘likes’ the idea of signing for the Red Devils. It’s said the scenario could be real ‘if Ten Hag stays’.
Gazzetta points out that Dumfries never really exploded like Inter Milan expected, and that’s why his departure wouldn’t cost much. It’s said a summer transfer could cost between €25m and €30m.
Manchester United have been using Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in his position this summer, and with the club clearly having other priorities in the team, we’ll see if they’d invest in another right-back.
