On Tuesday, Real Madrid visited Napoli and came away with a great result, managing a 3-2 win in Italy.
That was the first time Carlo Ancelotti visited his old club, as he left the Serie A side in 2019, quickly taking charge of Everton and then the Galacticos.
Now on Radio Punto Novo, relayed by CalcioNapoli24, pundit Giancarlos Padovan talked about the potential ‘revenge’ that the manager had over Napoli.
The journalist then claimed that his success can’t be considered like that, as Ancelotti would only have really got his own back if he’d succeeded with Everton, as everyone expects it with Madrid anyway.
“Then taking revenge by coaching Real Madrid is easy… The revenge could have been taken if he had won with his Everton, doing it with the Madrid team is easy for anyone.”
It’s worth recalling that Napoli have just been crowned Serie A champions, so Ancelotti would have had to achieve quite a lot with Everton to make his old club jealous.
In the last three jobs Ancelotti had, it was at the Toffees that he had the worst results, obviously because he took charge of a club who had no conditions to fight with those on top of the table.
The manager left Everton with 1.60 points per match, while he had 1.82 at Napoli and currently has 2.23 at Real Madrid.
