Spanish newspaper Marca report in their Tuesday edition that Stoke City are in a transfer tussle with Sevilla and Atletico Madrid, all trying to beat Granada to signing Jose Angulo.
Currently playing in his native Ecuador, the 21 year old impressed during the Copa America, and is therefore receiving plenty of interest.
Granada are trying to get a deal done before clubs with deeper pockets come in, and Marca say Stoke City, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid have already shown that they’re keen on the player.
Sevilla and Atletico have a very good record of buying talent, developing it, and then either using the player for their first team, or making a profit by selling him on.
That they’ve both identified Angulo would suggest he’s a very good talent. Whilst Stoke may be interested in the young footballer, the best thing for him is probably a move to Spain, given the similar culture, the fact he speaks Spanish, and the lifestyle.
