Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked to AS Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe in the past, and again there are claims in France they are still interested.
The 17-year-old signed a professional contract with the Ligue 1 club in March, and Liverpool made concrete efforts to sign him prior to that.
However, Mbappe hasn’t been playing regularly since signing his contract, and his father recently claimed they’ll evaluate his situation in the January transfer window, hinting a move is possible.
Mbappe started the first game of the season against Guingamp, but missed the next three league games due to a head injury.
On his return, Mbappe was demoted to the bench in the last five league games, but made a return to the starting XI against Montpellier.
The French forward, who has also been dubbed as the next ‘Thierry Henry’, put in an impressive performance, as he scored a a goal and created another in a 6-2 win.
French newspaper L’Equipe claim Arsenal and Liverpool are still following Mbappe, and his performance against Montpellier will only make this more concrete.
Mbappe has a contract until 2019 with the Ligue 1 club, and would certainly be hoping to start more often in the upcoming matches.
