Benfica winger Eduardo Salvio keeps chasing his dream of playing in the Premier League. The 26-year-old, who was recently linked with a move to England, spoke about his objective in an interview with Olé.

When asked about the goals of his career, Salvio said: “I always wanted to be a national team player. I would be delighted to return and I would like very much to play in English football. When I was at Lanus, what I most wanted was to play in Europe. Atletico and Benfica made that dream come true. But I don’t like to settle, I always want more.”

Salvio, who had a move to Manchester City collapse last Summer, talked about the frustration of getting so close and having his plans frustrated because of an injury: “The first time I injured my knee hard was a big sadness because we were starting the season. And the second was near the end of it.

“We were already champions and it was a pity because I had offers to go to English football. It was everything agreed to go to Manchester, it happened and it was hard. I thought, “Why is this happening to me again?”. But, hey, these are things that happen, you have to accept it and look forward.”

Claims from last week said Salvio’s move to the Premier League this summer was already agreed, although A Bola couldn’t mention which club would be his destination. Will Salvio fulfil his dream?
