Esbjerg fB sporting director and Dutch journalist Ted van Leeuwen has compared Manchester City youngster Enes Unal to Holland international star Klaas Jan Huntelaar. Unal is currently on loan with Dutch side FC Twente in order to get regular first team football.
Voetbal Primeur have reported on comments Van Leeuwen made to the Dutch media when speaking out the Manchester City starlet. He said when he saw a recent free kick from Unal it reminded him of the way Huntelaar strikes the ball. Van Leeuwen said that like the former Real Madrid forward, Unal has a good attitude, and is unfazed by anything.
“When I saw Enes’ free-kick against ADO, I got a Huntelaar déjà vu as Klaas-Jan could also take free kicks as it were falling down. There are more things in common with him. Enes knows very well what he wants, is driven and wants to train hard. He is also equally unperturbed,” said the Dutchman.
Unal has been in impressive form since arriving in Holland for a second time following his loan spell with Breda last season. The 19-year-old has scored six league goals in as many games, also finding the net in the cup.
