Southampton’s Dusan Tadic was looking forward to getting Serbia’s World Cup Qualifying campaign off to a good star. Serbia failed to qualify for Euro 2016 and there’s been a lot of bad feeling toward the national team.
Results change everything and Tadic has even got Republic of Ireland information out of Southampton teammate Shane Long, saying he did so without the forward knowing what was going on.
Unfortunately for Tadic, Serbia lost out on a win right at the end of their match against Ireland on Monday night, it finishing 2-2. Tadic had scored Serbia’s second goal, to put his country 2-1 up, and celebrated by ‘rocking the baby’.
Later the footballer revealed his good new to Serbia’s Mondo: “I received my daughter a few days ago and that’s why I celebrated in this way.”
On the result, Tadic said: “Although we were supposed to win, we have to accept a point because this is just the beginning of qualifying. The group is very equal and every point will be important.”
