Last Friday, we covered claims from Italy that Manchester United are ahead of Manchester City and others in the race for Atalanta star Éderson.

At the weekend, Quotidiano Sportivo reported Ruben Amorim would like to have the midfielder at Old Trafford.

Tutto Atalanta back up these claims and provide the latest on Manchester United’s efforts to sign the 25-year-old.

It’s pointed out the Red Devils have overcome competition from Manchester City and are in pole position to sign Éderson.

The report states Manchester United are ‘serious’ and are making advances with great determination.

They have been ‘intensifying contacts’ with the player’s entourage over a potential deal in the summer window. Amorim’s side have also hinted their willingness to negotiate with the Serie A club.

Éderson’s signing would be ‘considered strategic to build a midfield capable of combining physicality and quality.’

The Brazil international has a contract until 2027. The Europa League winners have taken this, his performances and impact this season into account to set a €60m price tag.

The report makes it clear Atalanta won’t offer any discounts and need this figure to negotiate his sale. Whether Manchester United will match La Dea’s request for the player needs to be seen.
