Manchester United and West Ham United have both shown an interest in Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilón, who is destined to leave Tottenham again this summer.
That’s according to AS, who say the full back has earned himself admirers after spending the second half of last season on loan at Brentford.
The newspaper reports that Tottenham do not want the Spaniard and have made that clear but his ‘future lies in the Premier League’ nonetheless.
That’s because he managed to impress at Brentford in the second half of last season, with his performances there not going unnoticed.
He returned to Tottenham because the Bees did not negotiate a purchase option with Spurs, but AS have learned that he ‘will pack his bags this summer’.
AS make no mention of whether any of those sides have made firm moves as yet, just that they are interested and ‘the elite of the Premier League’ are waiting for Reguilón ‘with open arms.’
A return to Manchester United would certainly be surprising given they let him leave in January last year despite their struggles at left-back. That alone suggested they weren’t all that keen.
West Ham would make more sense, particularly now Lopetegui is in charge and knows the player well, and they do have a need at left back too.
It’s a situation to keep an eye on, with Tottenham keen to move him on and there at least three potential suitors as far as AS are concerned.
