Earlier today, we covered the reports from France claiming that Wolverhampton Wanderers had used their buying option to sign the Porto defender Willy Boly on a permanent deal.
This came a few days after claims from Portugal they were set to do so.
Now it seems those claims are true, because a couple of Portuguese outlets are writing the exact same thing today.
Porto newspaper O Jogo is the one who gives it most attention, saying Wolverhampton have ‘officially notified’ The Dragons they’re activating the clause.
The Wolves are now set to pay Porto €12m for the defender, who’s joined the club on a loan deal an year ago.
In the past few weeks, the Portuguese media had already been pretty confident that this move was happening, and it’s seen as a very positive deal for Porto.
As the club are currently struggling to comply with the Financial Fair Play, the €12m will be more than welcome. O Jogo doesn’t have any details on the length of Boly’s contract, although France Football described it as ‘long term’ earlier today.
