Chelsea star Eden Hazard has been linked with a move to Barcelona. On July 12th, Sport reported the La Liga winners have made contact to sign the Blues forward and he is open to an exit this summer.
Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws has a story today talking about Hazard to Barcelona. They claim two well-informed sources have confirmed to them that Ernesto Valverde’s side have studied the possibility of signing the player.
HLN relays what was mentioned by Sport on Thursday that contacts have already been made with the player’s entourage. However, the former claims the negotiations are not concrete, but the former Lille star gave a positive response when asked if he would be open to the idea of joining them.
At Chelsea, the Belgium international has won five trophies and is yet to win the Champions League. He has spent six seasons with the west London club and the club’s policy to change managers frequently and ‘lack of strong reinforcements’ has convinced Hazard to leave Stamford Bridge.
The Blues forward’s ‘eternal dream’ is to play for Real Madrid, which may not go down well in Catalonia, however, if Barcelona make an approach for his services, he will not say no to the Camp Nou outfit.
HLN also mentions Chelsea have no intention of allowing Hazard leave the club this summer, even if they receive a world-record bid. The Blues could think again if the 27-year-old, who has two years left on his current deal, pushes to leave the club.
