Friday’s upturn in Samu Saiz to Getafe rumours is mainly down to the Spanish club’s president.
Angel Torres spoke at a gala on Thursday night, and whilst he didn’t name the Leeds United player, he made it clear to the assembled media that’s who he was talking about.
The lack of a name was because Torres said he was concerned about angering the Championship club. Despite that he did state Saiz could be in Spain on Saturday and would have a medical at the weekend.
During this open chat, he also claimed there’s a conspiracy to have Madrid based clubs, which Getafe is, relegated.
Now the club’s manager has had his say at the pre-match press conference ahead of facing Real Sociedad on Saturday.
Diario Vasco quote José Bordalás explaining it’s not as done as his boss suggests: “There are possibilities. He is one more player than we are shuffling. It is not finalised and we do not know if it will be him or another player.”
That’s very different. Perhaps Torres had been on his namesake wine and suggested the deal is further along than it is, or Bordalás could be trying to calm things until all the details are sorted out.
