Fanatik claim Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz has held talks with Manchester City officials with regards to signing defender Eliaquim Mangala.
This week we covered reports from Turkey that Cengiz has travelled to England to discuss a strategic partnership with the Premier League champions.
According to Fanatik, the long term goal of the partnership would involve Galatasaray taking Manchester City youngsters on loan deals to give them first team opportunities.
It’s claimed Fatih Terim and Pep Guardiola will sit down in the next few weeks to discuss the technical details over the potential partnership.
The Turkish newspaper also reports the Istanbul club are targeting Mangala ahead of the January window, which was discussed in the meeting. Galatasaray are looking to take the Frenchman on loan for the second half of the season.
The Super Lig club are keen to bring in a central defender in the new year and Fanatik say they want to loan Mangala for free, and that the Turkish club are hoping Manchester City will pay the player’s wages during the six month loan deal.
