Mika Biereth has admitted he would be delighted to return to Arsenal at some point, despite only leaving them permanently this summer.

The striker has been speaking to TV2 in Denmark about his future career plans after bagging his first goal for his country in the U21s 5-0 win over Czechia U21s.

The 21-year-old has been in superb form so far this season, bagging seven goals and one assist in nine games in the Austrian Bundesliga with Sturm Graz as well as one goal in two games in the OFB Cup.

They’re delighted with their summer decision to sign him on a permanent basis from Arsenal after he spent the second half of last season on loan at the club.

He had been with Arsenal since July 2021 when he arrived from Fulham’s U18s but failed to break through at the Emirates despite a record of 12 goals and five assists in 26 games for the U21s.

He instead spent time out on loan with RKC Waalwijk, Motherwell and then Sturm Graz in the second half of last season.

They spent big to get him permanently this summer, spending €4.7m in a club record deal that broke a record which had stood for 23 years.

Things are going well but he admits his eyes are always on the future, where he’d love to return to Arsenal if given the opportunity to do so.

“Things are going well in Sturm Graz,” he said.

“I have nothing to complain about right now. I play every week at a good level, and now we also play in the Champions League, where I’m still waiting for my first goal.

“If I keep playing well and scoring goals, hopefully a change can come, but right now I’m focused on Sturm and on doing well and scoring goals,

“A return back to Arsenal would be fantastic, but it’s not something I’m focusing on right now.”
