Rangers look to have secured a signing ahead of some strong transfer competition, according to claims coming from France on Monday afternoon.

Foot Mercato report Philippe Clement’s side are on the verge of signing Clinton Nsiala, and that they’ve beaten the competition to the 20-year-old.

His contract with AC Milan is expiring this summer, and having come through the Serie A side’s Primavera system (the youth set-up, it means Spring), he’s set to move to the Scottish Premiership and Rangers.

Rangers have beaten Monza, Empoli, Hamburg and Stuttgart to the youngster, after all of those clubs contacted Nsiala’s entourage to ask about a move this summer.

AC Milan had also been working on a renewal, but it looks like that now won’t happen and he’ll instead be off to Rangers.

The Glasgow club are said to have been following the youngster for a while, sending their scouts to watch him in action, and he’s been attracted after they explained their sporting project and plans to him.
